Welcome to Saginaw Valley
Medical Control Authority

In Michigan, Medical Control Authorities are formed by statue and charged with all aspects of oversight for the Emergency Medical Services in their region.

At the Saginaw Valley Medical Control Authority, our goal is to give our EMS providers the necessary direction and tools they need to provide progressive high-quality EMS care.

The SVMCA is responsible for EMS medical oversight in both Saginaw and Tuscola Counties.  As of 2009, there are almost 800 Medical First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics who represent 27 separate agencies.  These dedicated professionals provide EMS response to nearly 300,000 residents.

The SVMCA is made possible through the commitment and dedication of our local hospitals and without their support; none of our efforts would be possible.  Additionally, Synergy Medical Education Alliance has provided support to our organization since 2001.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters and all of the EMS providers in the system.  Through everyone’s dedication to excellent care, we are one of the best EMS systems in Michigan!
